Affiliate disclosure

Plain English, no small print. Last updated 2 August 2026.

The statement
Read vs Listen uses affiliate links.

Some links on this site take you to a Kindle or audiobook edition on Amazon. If you buy through one of them we may earn a small commission. It never changes what you pay, and it never changes our verdict.

What that actually means

Some of the links on this site, specifically the buttons that take you to a Kindle edition or an audiobook on Amazon, are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to buy something, Amazon may pay us a small percentage of the sale.

It does not cost you anything. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you'd gone to Amazon directly. Nothing is added, nothing is marked up, and you don't need an account with us or anything else.

Where affiliate links appear

Affiliate links appear in the "Get this book" box at the end of each article, and anywhere else on the site that links to a Kindle or Audible edition. Every one of them is labelled at the point of use as well as here. Links to other sites, such as a publisher, a news article or a source, are ordinary links and earn us nothing.

How it affects our verdicts: it doesn't

This is the part that matters, so it's worth being blunt about it.

We are not paid by any publisher, author, PR agency or retailer to feature a book, and we don't accept sponsored posts or paid reviews. Nobody can buy a verdict or a place on this site.

Amazon pays the same commission rate regardless of which format someone buys, so we have no financial reason to steer you towards Kindle over Audible or the other way round. Every verdict comes from the published framework, and we link to both editions on every article precisely so you can ignore us.

Prices and availability

We don't display prices, discounts or any "was/now" claims anywhere on this site. Prices on Amazon change constantly, and quoting one here would be out of date within hours. Check the current price on Amazon itself. That's the only accurate source, and it's what the buttons take you to.

Not affiliated with Amazon

Amazon, Kindle, Audible and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. Read vs Listen is an independent site and is not operated, endorsed or sponsored by Amazon, Audible or any publisher. Any views here are our own.
